Robert Erskine

Robert Erskine is a dedicated angler and learnt to fish at a very young age. Due to the knowledge and experience of one Australia's and the worlds best know anglers and fishing tackle experts, his father Jack Erskine, he has earned himself a reputation as a talent in his field of expertise. Chasing barramundi on lures in remote Australian outback locations is his passion and while he enjoys providing fish for the family table, he also practices catch & release, especially of big breeding fish.       

He has been involved in the fishing tackle industry now for over 30 years and is the manager of Erskine's Tackle World in Cairns. Robert was been a strong advocate of sustainable fishing practices and  fishing conservation. Robert has continually fought for the rights of all fisherman and the Fishing Industry. Being politically active has been borne out of frustrations of dealing with governments whose fisheries and environmental management is based on restricting or locking fisherman out of massive areas of our magnificent country. 

Robert's enthusiasm and committment for fishing and the great outdoors will ensure he continues the fight so his children, like him, can enjoy Australia's vast and diverse wilderness. He believes it is worth defending and hopes others will join the fight to save our fishing and lifestyle rights.
